Image Cropper
Crop a JPG, PNG, or WebP locally with a draggable selection, preset aspect ratios, or exact pixel coordinates. Preview and download your cropped image.
How to use Image Cropper
- Choose a still image. The starting selection covers the whole picture.
- Drag the selection or its lower-right handle, choose a ratio preset, or enter exact left, top, width, and height values. Arrow keys also move or resize the selection.
- Select Crop image and download the preview in the original format.
What is Image Cropper?
Cropping keeps a selected rectangular region and removes the surrounding pixels. This tool uses coordinates in the decoded image's original pixel dimensions, regardless of how large the preview appears on screen. Free cropping lets you choose any rectangle. The 1:1, 4:3, and 16:9 presets start with the largest centered selection that fits, rounded to whole pixels.
- Drag to move and resize the crop selection
- Free, square, 4:3, and 16:9 ratios
- Exact whole-pixel coordinates and dimensions
- Keyboard alternatives and original-format export
Supported images and limits
Choose one still JPG, PNG, or WebP image at a time. Each file can be up to 20 MiB, with no more than 25 million pixels and no side longer than 8192 pixels. Animated PNG and WebP files are rejected, as are GIF, SVG, HEIC, and other unsupported formats. Available memory and export support can impose additional limits on your browser or device.
Local processing and exported files
Your image is read and processed on this device. ADEMN does not upload it, store an image history, or include its contents, filename, or dimensions in tool analytics. Replacing the image, resetting the tool, or leaving the page releases the workspace's image resources; downloaded files remain wherever you saved them.
The tool creates a new image from the decoded pixels. Photos are decoded using their stored orientation, and the original EXIF metadata is not copied into the result. Encoding, color handling, and output size can vary by browser. JPG output fills transparent regions with white; PNG and WebP output preserve transparency.

Frequently asked questions
Can I enter an exact crop size?
Yes. Set the left and top coordinates and the crop's width and height in whole pixels. The complete rectangle must fit inside the original image. Preset ratios link the width and height, subject to whole-pixel rounding.
Can I crop using the keyboard?
Yes. Focus the selection and use arrow keys to move it, or focus the lower-right handle and use arrow keys to resize. Hold Shift for ten-pixel steps. All crop coordinates also have labeled numeric inputs.
Does the preview size affect the exported crop?
No. The selection is mapped to the original decoded pixels. A 400 × 300 pixel crop exports at those dimensions even when its on-screen preview is displayed at another size.
Does cropping overwrite my original?
No. The result is a new downloadable file in the original format. Your source file is unchanged. JPG and WebP output is re-encoded; the original EXIF metadata is not copied.
