What is Square Footage Calculator?

A rectangular area equals length multiplied by width. Converting both dimensions to the same unit before multiplication avoids mixing feet, inches, and meters. An added or subtracted rectangle adjusts the net area; a supplied price applies to the selected area unit rather than to a linear measurement.

Can I estimate an irregular room?

Split the layout into rectangles and use the optional added or subtracted rectangle for a simple adjustment. The tool does not infer curves or irregular boundaries.

Why is a square-unit conversion different from a length conversion?

An area has two dimensions. A square foot is 0.3048 × 0.3048 square meters, not 0.3048 square meters.

Does the price include waste or installation?

Only the net area multiplied by your entered unit price is included. Installation, taxes, cutting loss, and other charges are not added automatically.
