What is Date Duration Calculator?
A day difference counts the boundaries between two dates. A calendar breakdown describes the same interval using complete years and months plus remaining days; months are not treated as a fixed number of days. Reversed dates retain their direction in the total, while the breakdown describes the magnitude of the interval.

Frequently asked questions
Are the start and end dates included?
By default the tool reports elapsed days, so equal dates give zero. Include end date adds one counted day to the interval's magnitude; equal dates then count as one day.
Why do months not equal 30 days?
Calendar months contain 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. The breakdown advances through real calendar units rather than dividing by a fixed month length.
Can the end date be earlier?
Yes. The total indicates a backward interval. The years, months, and days breakdown shows the interval's absolute size.
